We will be reaching out to everyone for there scheduled appointments soon.
Our office has always utilized personal protective equipment (PPE) and sterilization protocols that have exceeded all the CDC guidelines, however, in light of the COVID-19 Pandemic just like dentist all over the world we have put in place a number of additional guidelines and protocols to ensure the safety of patients and the team. Here are a few of the precautions we take every day.
Pre-screening
We will continue to pre-screen patients using the latest guidance from the Alberta Government and the Alberta Dental Association & College. The initial pre-screening will take place over the phone and you’ll be assessed again when you arrive at the office, including temperature check with a touch less thermometer. We ask that all patients who are feeling sick to please reschedule. Hand sanitizers and masks for you are available in our office.
Social distancing
We’ve arranged the schedule to reduce wait times. Please make every effort to arrive on time for your appointment. If you encounter another patient or staff member, please do your best to maintain two metres of space between you at all times.
Office disinfection
High touch surfaces throughout the office are wiped down regularly. Magazines and toys have been removed from the waiting room. Between patients, the consultation room is cleaned and disinfected, and surface barriers are replaced. We will continue to verify team health daily including taking temperatures.
Sterilization
All tools are either disposable or thoroughly sterilized between patients. We’re proud to uphold our usual rigorous sterilization procedures in our office. We have also introduced an oral pre-rinse by all patients to reduce exposure to germs.
Air purification
We have medical-grade air purification systems to clean the air in the office. These filtration systems reduce airborne pathogens including viruses and bacteria. We have also installed purifiers that use multi-stage air purifying technologies that work together to clean, purify and re-energize the indoor air.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
All our dental healthcare professionals wear personal protective equipment to protect themselves and patients, including masks, face shields and gowns.
Things will feel different but our intent to do for you what we would for our families and our commitment to provide the best dental care still remains the same. Thank you for understanding and patience.
We are happy to answer any and all questions you may have about the steps we have taken to keep all our patients and team members safe.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out at 403-823-4944 or email at bigcountrydental@gmail.com.
